Youth Hockey Community Outreach
AHL’s community outreach programs aim to provide youth with access to valuable experiences in sports like hockey. Given that hockey isn't a major sport in Western North Carolina, we are constantly exploring innovative ways to engage young people in the game. This initiative also presents a fantastic opportunity for YOU to get involved, whether you're a youth player, coach, or adult league participant. AHL offers scholarships for both registration fees and equipment rentals.

Through outreach efforts at local community centers and events at our former Carrier Park location, we provide information about our programs and introduce kids to the sport. We start by teaching the fundamentals of stickhandling, passing, and shooting with floor hockey, using nets, sticks, and pucks. The kids then participate in a fun game to apply what they've learned!
Currently, we collaborate with Asheville Parks and Recreation and six participating community centers. If you know of any schools or organizations interested in hosting a floor hockey program, please reach out to justin@ashevillehockey.org.
