2025 Board of Directors Election Process
As 2024 comes to an end, Ashville Hockey is gearing up for our Board of Directors Election. We are here to tell you how the process works.
Expectations for being a board Member:
1. 3 Year Term.
2. Monthly Board Meeting: Virtual Meetings with a couple meetings being in person (Thursdays).
3. Aligning with our leagues vision and goals.
4. Working well with others and helping with tasks on hand.
5. Actively participate in fundraisers and help with other league events.
6. Bringing new ideas to the board.
7. Join a committee.
The tentative date for our Board of Directors election is January 23rd at the monthly board meeting.
2024 AHL members have been emailed for candidates on December 1st and we will collect candidates until December 14th. Please email Dan@ashevillehockey.org if you are interested in being on the board before December 14th. [This part of the process is complete]
Following the December 14th deadline, candidates that have put their name in the election process will be sent a questionnaire survey that will be shared on our website and emailed to all the members of Asheville Hockey. If a candidate fails to complete the survey, they will be removed as a candidate for the upcoming election.
Deadline for surveys is January 5th.
After the board of directors collects all questionnaires from election candidates, a candidates page on our website will go live with all candidates questionnaires and the link will be sent to all Asheville Hockey League 2024 members.
All Asheville Hockey League members will be sent a link to the email they used to register their child or themselves in 2024 with an electronic ballot. This process is the same as last year. You will be sent the ballot 4 days before election day. The electronic ballot will close at 11:59pm the night before the election. All other votes will need to be casted in person on the day of the election.
